I’m Made Surya, a writer from Sakti Village, Nusa Penida. I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by the sounds, traditions, and everyday rhythms of the island.
Outside of writing, one of the things I enjoy most is megambel, playing traditional Balinese gamelan. Music has always been a meaningful part of my life, and it has also shaped the way I see and appreciate Balinese culture.
I also enjoy writing because it gives me another way to share the stories of Nusa Penida. Through VisitPenida.com, I write about places, local culture, and experiences that I believe are worth discovering, especially from the perspective of someone who calls the island home.
For me, Nusa Penida is not only a beautiful place to visit. It is a place filled with traditions, memories, and everyday stories that deserve to be shared.
