Getting there and when to go
We used the sources below. We haven't recorded an on-site check, so ask locally about current access and facilities.
Dress for a temple visit
Goa Giri Putri is an active Balinese Hindu temple. People come here to pray, so wear a sarong and sash, cover your shoulders and knees, and follow the instructions at the entrance.
Ceremonies can affect visitor access. Wait when asked and keep worship paths clear.
The cave entrance
You’ll pass through a small opening in the rock before reaching a much larger cave. You need to crouch through the entrance; check it first if you have limited mobility or feel uncomfortable in enclosed spaces.
The cave can be humid and the ground uneven. Walk slowly, speak quietly, and let worshippers pass.
Photography and ceremonies
Ask before photographing people, offerings, or prayers. Put your camera away if asked. Give ceremonies time and space, even if it means waiting or seeing less.
Getting there
Visit on an east-side day with Atuh Beach or Thousand Islands Viewpoint. Keep enough time for the temple instead of squeezing it between several beach descents.
Before leaving
Ask about the current entrance or donation arrangement and carry small cash. Bring water, check the road home, and leave enough time for your next stop.
