Getting there and when to go
We used the sources below. We haven't recorded an on-site check, so ask locally about current access and facilities.
The view
Thousand Islands Viewpoint looks across steep cliffs, offshore rocks, and beaches far below. You can enjoy the east-coast scenery here without descending to Diamond Beach.
Rumah Pohon is in the same general area, but its photo platform isn’t the only reason to visit.
Walking and stairs
You’ll drive through the island’s interior, then walk down steps to the viewpoints. Bring water and shoes with grip; the climb back can be tiring in the heat.
Leave extra time when the area is busy, and ask about current entrance and parking charges.
Nearby stops
Visit Rumah Pohon, then choose Diamond Beach or Atuh Beach. Add Teletubbies Hill if you still have time.
Keep Kelingking and the west coast for another day. Trying to cover both coasts means a lot of driving.
Safety
Stay on established paths, behind barriers, and back from cliff edges. Keep children close. Wet ground and strong wind can make exposed viewpoints harder to walk around.
Plan an east-side day
Use the 5D4N itinerary to choose between beach time, viewpoints, and a temple visit. Don’t add every east-coast stop to the same day.
