Our recommendation: three days and two nights

Stay at least 3D2N if you can. Arrival and departure take part of two days, leaving one full day for the west coast, east coast, snorkeling, or relaxing near your hotel.

Choose four or five days if you want more than one main outing.

Choose fewer stops

Roads, parking, stairs, meals, and rest all take time. Kelingking, Diamond Beach, and a snorkeling trip don’t fit comfortably into one day.

Choose one coast or a water trip, then give it enough time. If you’re going down beach stairs, leave room for the climb back.

You still need to reach the harbour, check in, board, collect luggage, and drive to your hotel. Departure reverses that journey with a fixed check-in deadline.

Keep those days local rather than booking distant sightseeing before a boat.

Sea conditions need flexibility

Snorkeling operators may change sites or cancel when sea conditions are unsuitable. With a longer stay, you can swap a land day and a water day instead of relying on one fixed morning.

Check the weather and follow your operator’s decision.

Leave time between outings

You can take a full sightseeing tour and still travel at a relaxed pace. Have a proper meal, rest after a beach climb, and leave an evening free. You don’t need another stop just because there’s room on the map.

Choose your itinerary

Pick a trip length from the table, then choose your stay area and transport. Use the itinerary hub for daily plans and the map to see how far apart the places are.
