Start before the day-trip visitors

Many visitors arrive by morning boat and visit the same sights before returning in the afternoon. Staying overnight lets you start earlier and enjoy more of the evening.

Five ways to avoid the rush

  1. Stay overnight for an early start.
  2. Choose a hotel near tomorrow’s first stop.
  3. Visit your main sight first.
  4. Have lunch or rest during the busiest midday hours.
  5. Choose fewer stops so you can wait out a queue.

A quieter west-side day

Visit Kelingking early, then Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong. Skip the last stop if you’re running late.

Stay near Crystal Bay if you’d like to enjoy the beach without rushing to a return boat.

A quieter east-side day

Start early for Thousand Islands Viewpoint and Diamond Beach. Choose Diamond or Atuh for a beach descent.

Add Goa Giri Putri or Teletubbies Hill only if there’s time.

Check access at quieter places

A quiet beach can still have rough paths, strong currents, or no facilities. Ask locally about access and choose places your group can comfortably reach.

When a day trip is the only option

Book an early boat, arrange your driver, and choose west or east. Tell the driver which sight matters most. If traffic is slow, drop another stop.

See the one-day west and one-day east plans.

Choose your hotel and first stop

Use the map to see the distances, then compare stay areas. A hotel near tomorrow’s first stop makes an early start easier.
