What was reported in Banjar Nyuh

Made, Visit Penida’s owner, reported long Pertamina fuel queues near Banjar Nyuh. Vehicles waiting for petrol were delaying traffic towards the harbour.

He supplied a photograph from Banjar Nyuh on 3 October 2026 at 20:08 WITA showing cars and motorcycles still queued at night. He reported queues from before dawn into the evening. That earlier timeline comes from the owner’s report, not from one photograph alone.

See the full supplied photograph. Made provided its time and location.

Our recommendation for 4 to 7 October 2026

Visit Penida strongly advises against a day trip during 4 to 7 October 2026. The queues can take away time for sightseeing and make a return boat difficult to catch.

Stay overnight and keep arrival and departure days simple. We recommend three days and two nights, which gives you one full day without a boat crossing.

If you already have a boat ticket

For a Banjar Nyuh boat back to Bali, leave your accommodation at least two hours before the ticketed departure. If your boat leaves at 14:00, leave by 12:00 at the latest, or earlier for a long drive or early check-in deadline.

Send your driver the ticket and harbour pin. Ask about current traffic and bring pickup forward if needed. Two hours may still be too little when queues are long.

An east-hotel transfer along the north-coast road can face two separate fuel queues, first at Pertamina in Ped, then in Banjar Nyuh. Book your driver before arriving and skip sightseeing on departure morning. See the east-hotel transfer guide for an example.

If you may miss your boat, contact the provider about your options.

Where to stay during the queues

Made also reported a long queue at Pertamina in Ped. For a quiet stay during this period, choose Sakti or Crystal Bay away from the affected roads.

Made reports that drivers are easier to arrange there than for early east-hotel pickups. Still, book your actual pickup ahead rather than looking for a car at the last minute.

Jalan Raya Klumpu for a separate east day

For a west-to-east sightseeing day, Made recommends asking your driver about Jalan Raya Klumpu through the inland hills. This avoids the Banjar Nyuh queue area.

It won’t solve a transfer to Banjar Nyuh harbour: you still need to reach the harbour itself.

Travelling after 7 October

This report was published on 4 October for travel through 7 October 2026.

Traffic conditions after 7 October 2026 are not confirmed by this report. Ask your driver and boat provider for a current traffic check before setting pickup.

  • Visit Penida owner report and supplied photograph

The owner confirms fuel queues affecting Banjar Nyuh, reports queuing from before dawn into the evening on 3 October 2026, and identifies the supplied photograph as taken there at 20:08 WITA. On 4 October the owner also confirms long queues at the Pertamina in Ped: an east-to-Banjar Nyuh harbour transfer along the north-coast route can encounter the Ped queue and then the Banjar Nyuh queue, two separate delays. The recommendation through 7 October is Visit Penida's dated travel advice, not an official announcement that congestion will end.

    Owner confirmation Oct 4, 2026
  • Visit Penida owner guidance on west-side stays and harbour timing

The owner recommends Sakti and Crystal Bay for quieter stays away from the affected Banjar Nyuh and Ped roads, with drivers much easier to arrange. Jalan Raya Klumpu is the hill alternative for west-to-east sightseeing. For a return boat from Banjar Nyuh, leave accommodation at least two hours before the ticketed departure, and earlier when the driver, journey, queues or check-in deadline require it. This minimum does not guarantee arrival or bypass the harbour approach.
