What we know on 12 October 2026
Diamond Beach may start charging visitors through voucher packages from around 15 October 2026. This news came to us on 12 October through a channel for drivers across Nusa Penida, together with a flyer titled Voucer Wisata Diamond Hill’s.
It is not confirmed yet. The drivers expect it to start on 15 October, but Klungkung Regency hasn’t announced a date, and the flyer itself doesn’t give one. We’ll update this page when there is an official statement or when we’ve seen it working at the gate.
What is clear is that a package price list now exists, and it is very different from the single Rp25,000 fee announced in September.
The five Diamond Beach voucher packages
Prices are per person, as printed on the flyer. Every package says it includes a Rp25,000 Pemda retribution, the regency government’s fee. You pay that Rp25,000 at a separate Pemda counter and the rest at reception, so Package A is Rp75,000 at reception plus Rp25,000 at the Pemda counter.
All five packages also list a free toilet and shower, a fridge magnet, the bed swing and the iconic stairs.
What the flyer doesn’t say
Several questions matter for your budget, and the flyer doesn’t answer them:
- Is a package compulsory? It doesn’t say whether you can pay only the Rp25,000 government fee, or visit the clifftop viewpoint without buying a package.
- Children: no child price is listed.
- Payment: no payment method is listed. Bring a card and some cash.
- The stairs: the “iconic stairs” appear in every package, but there is no information on how access to the beach stairs is checked.
Until this is clear, plan on Rp100,000 per person if you want to visit Diamond Beach after 15 October.
Why Diamond Beach fees changed in September
Diamond Beach has been run by a private operator since 2022. In 2023 entry cost Rp35,000, as detikTravel reported. By 2026 the fee had reportedly reached Rp60,000.
In early September 2026 the Klungkung Regency government stepped in over incomplete permits. NusaBali reported on 3 September that activities there were halted, including the restaurant, flying fox and swings. On 7 September, Regent I Made Satria clarified to Bali Post that eight business units were sealed, not the beach.
On 10 September, Klungkung Tourism head I Gusti Agung Gde Putra Mahajaya told The Bali Times that:
- the beach was never closed and could be visited as usual;
- no tourism fees could be collected at the site until the building permit issues were resolved;
- a Rp25,000 per-visitor levy was planned to replace the operator’s entrance fee;
- parking fees remained permitted.
The new packages fit part of that plan, since each one carries the Rp25,000 government fee. The rest of the price goes to the operator’s facilities and photo spots.
Two Rp25,000 fees, not one
Don’t confuse the Diamond Beach fee with the Nusa Penida arrival levy. They are separate payments:
- Arrival levy: Rp25,000 for each foreign adult entering Nusa Penida.
- Diamond Beach Pemda fee: Rp25,000, included in each voucher package.
For a foreign adult arriving from Bali and choosing Package A, that’s Rp125,000 for the two. Our Nusa Penida fees guide explains the arrival levy and the attraction tickets at other sites.
Are the swing and flying fox open?
We can’t confirm it. The flying fox and swings were among the units halted in September for missing permits. Packages D and E sell the Diamond swing and the flying fox, but we haven’t seen an announcement that their permits are complete.
Before paying for Package D or E, ask at the counter that the ride is running that day. Then check how the swing or flying fox is secured, and don’t use it if it looks unsafe.
What this means for your east-coast day
If you’re visiting the east coast after 15 October:
- Budget Rp100,000 per person for Diamond Beach, plus parking.
- Ask your driver the evening before whether the packages have started.
- Start with Package A if you only want the view and the stairs. The higher packages add food, photo spots or rides.
- Keep your receipt for both payments.
Diamond Beach is one stop on our Diamond and Atuh east coast tour. Like all our tours, the price doesn’t include attraction tickets, so any Diamond Beach package is paid at the site. For the viewpoint, the stairs and the sea conditions, read our Diamond Beach guide.
