Swimming and sea conditions
We used the sources below. We haven't recorded an on-site check, so ask locally about current access and facilities.
The guide and boat pickup
You may move with the current along the reef, with the boat collecting you farther along. Before entry, ask where you’re heading, how close to stay, which hand signals to use, and what to do if you lose the group.
Ability and equipment
You need to be comfortable floating, using a snorkel, and following a guide in open water. Tell the operator if you’re a weak swimmer or have difficulty using fins. Use properly fitted flotation when recommended; fins and a vest don’t make strong current safe.
Choosing an operator
Ask about group size, guides in the water, safety equipment, and how the boat follows swimmers. Choose an operator willing to change or skip the site when conditions are unsuitable.
Keep clear of coral
Keep fins and loose equipment away from coral. Don’t stand on the reef, chase animals, or touch them for photos.
Booking the trip
The site may be combined with Gamat Bay or SD Point, depending on conditions. Confirm the planned stops and meeting point.
See Toyapakeh stays if you’d like to stay near northwest departures.
