Walking from Crystal Bay

The footpath from Crystal Bay crosses the headland to a quieter, less developed beach. It’s a good morning walk if you’re staying nearby and don’t want to spend the day driving.

Check the trail first

Expect uneven ground, heat, and few services. Paths can be slippery after rain. Ask locally about the current trail and return before dark.

Best way to plan it

Go in the morning with water and shoes with grip. Have lunch and spend the afternoon back at Crystal Bay.

For a stay near the beach, see Mahaloka Valley and the Crystal Bay accommodation guide.
