A short crossing by small boat

Lembongan and Penida are close, but leave time to reach the boat, load your bags and meet your driver after landing. Departure points can change with the operator, tide and sea conditions.

Ask for a current map pin. Some departures use neighbouring Ceningan. Still choosing an island? Compare Penida and Lembongan.

Before booking

Ask the operator:

  • Where exactly do we board and land?
  • When should we arrive, and how much luggage can we bring?
  • Will we walk through water, over sand or down steps?
  • Can staff help with our bags or boarding?

Keep your phone, documents and medicine in a dry bag. Share the Penida arrival pin with your hotel or driver.

Where to stay after landing

If you arrive around Toyapakeh, compare Toyapakeh, Ped and Crystal Bay. Batununggul and east-side hotels need a longer drive. Check in before heading for a distant beach.

Boarding and sea conditions

Check the day’s sea conditions with the operator. If you get seasick, prepare before boarding and ask the crew where to sit.

If you need level access or help walking, describe that before booking. Ask about boarding on both islands; a small harbour may still have steps or a beach landing.

Keep the transfer day simple

Spend at least a night on each island, with longer stays if you want time to relax. On transfer day, check out, take the boat, check in and enjoy somewhere nearby.
