Location and daily needs
Batununggul is a town base on the eastern part of the north coast. It’s near Sampalan and Buyuk, with food and everyday services rather than a remote resort setting.
Who might like it
Choose it if you want shops and meals nearby, an eastern arrival, or an earlier start towards Diamond and Atuh. Check each hotel’s pin and road access.
Driving to the east coast
An eastern base can shorten the approach compared with staying near Crystal Bay. Diamond, Atuh, and Rumah Pohon still take a drive and time for stairs. Give them a separate day.
Confirm your harbour
Send your ticket to the hotel and driver. Sampalan and Buyuk aren’t interchangeable pickup points; use the actual terminal pin. See the harbour guide and Kusamba route.
Food and services
You can find meals, shops, pharmacies, fuel, and ATMs around the town area. Check what’s within walking distance of your hotel, especially for evenings.
What to consider
The town is less secluded than a beach resort. West-coast outings and Crystal Bay sunset involve longer drives. Ask about road noise and room access before booking.
Nearby alternatives
Compare Sampalan for eastern harbour access, Ped along the north coast, and Toyapakeh for northwest arrivals and snorkeling.
Choose the hotel pin
Match a hotel to your boat and first outing, then arrange transport. Use the map to check distances.
