Gangga Express route and fare sources were checked on 28 September 2026. Made also shares his regular experience of this crossing.

Why Made often chooses Kusamba

Gangga Express runs from Tri Bhuwana Harbour in Kusamba, east Bali, to Sampalan in Batununggul, Nusa Penida. The crossing is shorter than Sanur to Banjar Nyuh.

Made was born and raised on Penida and uses this route regularly. He often finds the crossing calmer and Gangga’s departures close to schedule. That’s his experience, not a guarantee: boats can still be delayed or cancelled when the sea is rough.

Gangga Express schedule and fares

Gangga’s website lists a crossing of about 30 minutes. On 28 September 2026, it showed departures between 06:30 and 17:00 and these fares:

  • Domestic adult: IDR 75,000
  • Domestic child aged 2 to 11: IDR 50,000
  • Foreign adult: IDR 150,000
  • Foreign child aged 2 to 11: IDR 100,000
  • Infant under 2: free

Check the official schedule and fare page for your date. Visit Penida doesn’t sell Gangga Express tickets or receive a commission; this is Made’s independent recommendation.

Check in at least 30 minutes early

Gangga asks you to collect your ticket at least 30 minutes before departure. Arrive earlier with large bags, children or a request for boarding help.

Save the Tri Bhuwana departure pin, Sampalan arrival pin, ticket and operator contact offline. Send the arrival pin to your hotel or driver and agree where to meet. Check your fare category and luggage allowance before paying.

Check the sea before leaving

A short crossing can still be rough. Check the BMKG forecast and the operator’s message on the day, and follow the crew’s instructions.

Leave a night in Bali before an international flight. A delayed or cancelled boat can otherwise mean missing your flight.

From Sampalan to your hotel

Sampalan is convenient for Batununggul, Sampalan stays and the east. For Crystal Bay, compare Sanur to Banjar Nyuh, which usually means less driving on Penida.

Our Crystal Bay pick is Mahaloka Valley in lower Crystal Bay, about a 10-minute walk from the beach. See the harbour guide and 3D2N itinerary before booking.
