Book your boat first
Choose your boat to Nusa Penida and check both the departure port and arrival harbour before paying. Save the ticket offline and follow the operator’s check-in instructions.
Leave room between your flight and the boat. If you arrive late in Bali, stay that night and cross the next day rather than rushing straight to the harbour.
Check where the boat lands
Penida has several harbours, including Banjar Nyuh, Buyuk, and Sampalan. Your driver needs the right one. See the harbour guide if you’re comparing sailings.
Budget for entry fees
Foreign adults pay Rp25,000 per person when entering Nusa Penida. Foreign children aged 4 to 13 pay Rp15,000. This arrival levy doesn’t apply to domestic tourists.
You’ll also pay for the OGOD attractions you visit. Those tickets are separate and apply to both domestic and foreign visitors: Rp25,000 per adult, or Rp15,000 per child aged 4 to 13.
The Klungkung Government announcement sets the start date at 1 September 2026. See the tourist levy and attraction fees guide for the tariff table, payment advice, and an example budget.
Arrange your pickup
Send your boat ticket and hotel pin to your driver before boarding. Agree on the meeting point and ask what to do if the sailing changes. Keep the driver’s number and your hotel details saved on your phone.
If your hotel is arranging pickup, ask whether the transfer is included or paid separately. Don’t assume someone will be waiting unless you’ve confirmed it.
Before boarding
- Save your boat ticket and check-in instructions offline.
- Confirm the arrival harbour and pickup point.
- Ask whether your booking includes the arrival levy or attraction tickets.
- Bring a card and some rupiah for local spending. See the cash and card guide.
- Keep your phone charged and your driver’s number handy.
Keep your payment proof
Pay at the official collection point and save the receipt or digital ticket. If your operator has already collected a fee, ask for the proof so you can show what’s been paid.
