Enjoy the beach without a long drive

Stay nearby and you can walk to the sand in the morning, return for lunch or a rest, and go back for sunset. You don’t need to visit another landmark every day.

Stay at least two nights

Three days and two nights give you an arrival evening, one full day, and a departure morning. Choose a local beach day or one sightseeing trip for that full day.

Stay longer if you want the west coast, east coast, and snorkeling on separate days.

A simple beach day

Have breakfast, walk to Crystal Bay, and snorkel from shore if conditions allow. Break for lunch, then spend the hot afternoon by the pool or resting. Go back later for sunset.

If you leave Crystal Bay around 7 pm and ride a scooter back uphill, the road has no streetlights. That can be a dangerous ride, especially if you don’t know the road. For relaxed beach days and sunset evenings, stay in lower Crystal Bay, below the hill and within walking distance of the beach. Our top pick is Mahaloka Valley, about a 10-minute walk away.

Made confirmed the road conditions on 6 October 2026. If you’re staying farther away, arrange a driver to wait or ride back before dark.

Where to stay

Mahaloka has bungalow rooms, a pool, restaurant, spa, Starlink Wi-Fi and a guest Travel Hub.

What to do from Crystal Bay

  • Rent snorkeling gear on the sand and ask where to swim that day.
  • Walk towards Pandan Beach if the trail is suitable.
  • Book a west tour for Kelingking, Broken Beach, and Angel’s Billabong.
  • Give the east coast a separate day.
  • Confirm the meeting point for a snorkeling boat; a Manta trip may leave elsewhere.

Getting here and getting around

Book your boat and send the arrival harbour and hotel pin to the driver. Use the Sanur boat guide and harbour guide.

Walk for local beach time and book a driver for longer outings.

Three days at Crystal Bay

  • Day 1: arrive, check in, and go to the beach if you have time.
  • Day 2: spend a full day nearby or choose one island tour.
  • Day 3: breakfast and a local morning, then transfer to the boat.

See the 3D2N Crystal Bay itinerary.

Before you go

Book the arrival transfer, bring smaller rupiah notes, and pack shoes with grip, sun protection, and water. Ask locally about the day’s swimming conditions and arrange your way home before sunset.
