Location and food
Holy Penida is an open-air restaurant and bar on Jalan Raya Toya Pakeh in Ped, on the north-coast road. Its Tripadvisor description promises about 60 dishes and 50 drinks, and the menu runs from Italian and American dishes to tacos and international plates.
Reviewers keep coming back to the pesto pasta. A September 2026 review praised a simple dinner of bruschetta and pesto spaghetti, and a January 2025 review recommended the same pasta, cooked fresh. Others mention beef tacos, squid fritters and smoothie bowls. Tripadvisor lists vegetarian and vegan options.
When to visit
Come for dinner and a drink if you’re staying in Ped or Toyapakeh. The garden has lounge chairs under string lights, and reviewers mention reggae, live music on some nights and a play area for children. A traveller visiting in August 2025 found it quiet late in the evening.
The sign in that reviewer’s 2025 photo advertises a happy hour from 4 pm to 8 pm. Ask whether it still runs before you plan around it.
Most reviews are warm. A few lower ones mention ordinary food, a dish sent back, and dogs wandering through the restaurant. FINNS Beach Club’s guide also notes it’s family friendly and welcomes dogs.
Payment and hours
Bring cash. The Tripadvisor listing showed “cash only” when we checked on 13 October 2026. Our cash and ATM guide covers where to get rupiah.
Tripadvisor lists 11 am to 10 pm daily, while The Bali Guideline shows noon to 10 pm. The official website wasn’t loading when we checked, so call the restaurant before making a special trip.
Getting there and home
If you’re staying nearby in Ped, ask your hotel whether you can walk or should take a short ride. Don’t assume the main road is a comfortable evening walk.
From Crystal Bay or the Sampalan side, book a driver for the ride home before you sit down. A late scooter ride on unfamiliar roads after drinks isn’t worth the risk.
Before you go
- Bring rupiah, since the listing says cash only.
- Call ahead to confirm hours, especially for lunch.
- Arrange your ride home if your hotel isn’t close.
