Choose this trip for Manta Point

Manta Point is the main reason to choose this shared snorkeling trip. The planned route also includes Gamat Bay and Turtle Point, giving you three named stops rather than a general promise of snorkeling around the island.

Manta Point and Manta Bay are different sites. Our four-spot shared trip plans to visit Manta Bay instead. Tell Made which site you want, and ask what the operator can realistically reach on your travel date.

Your snorkeling rundown

The sequence below explains the outing. Meeting time, location, boat arrangements and the actual order are confirmed before payment. The guide can change or skip a stop because of the sea.

  1. Meet the boat team. Go to the confirmed meeting point, check in and tell the guide about your swimming ability, medical needs or concerns.
  2. Briefing and equipment. Check the fit of your mask and other supplied gear. Ask about flotation equipment, currents, entering the water and how the boat will collect you.
  3. Manta Point. Follow the guide’s decision about entering the water. Give mantas space, keep your hands to yourself and don’t chase them.
  4. Gamat Bay. Snorkel over the reef where the guide directs you. Ask about the current and stay with the group and agreed pickup arrangement.
  5. Turtle Point. Visit the planned site if conditions allow. Keep your distance from any turtles and let them surface freely.
  6. Return and finish. Return to the confirmed landing point. Arrange your onward transfer separately unless Made confirms it is included.

Swimming ability and sea conditions

Tell Made if you’re new to snorkeling or not confident swimming in open water. Ask about the guide’s support and flotation equipment before booking. Don’t wait until the boat leaves to explain what help you need.

At each stop, ask about today’s current, where you should enter and how the boat will pick you up. If the guide advises staying on the boat or changing sites, follow that instruction.

Wildlife is part of the experience

You may see mantas at Manta Point or turtles along the route, but neither is guaranteed.

Watch without touching, feeding or chasing marine life. Keep fins away from the reef and follow the guide’s instructions for moving with the group.

What to bring and confirm

Bring swimwear, a towel, drinking water and sun protection. Keep your phone and valuables protected from water. Ask how personal belongings are stored on the boat.

The included videos are some clips recorded by the boat guide, rather than a promise of a complete personal film. Confirm how they are shared, along with any transfer, meal or other requirement you want included.

Read the Manta Point guide for more about the site and Gamat Bay for reef access and current advice.
